An alphabetically ordered selection of early tries at writing a good song.

I have stayed on the trail but didn’t get to where I wanted to go - although along the way I did feel there were signs I was heading in the right direction. Some of those signs I think can be found in this selection: in part of a tune or in a line from a lyric.

The songs are a few of those which got left behind but were never forgotten. It is accepted that in their brevity several would have required further work to become fully formed. They were chosen mostly because I have a particular fondness for each of them and for the time and place in which they were written and recorded.

The image was cropped from a photograph taken at the same time as some of the songs were being written on Haida Gwaii.

PS I cheated on the alphabeticals to end with a small perhaps more positive track.
